2015 Down Syndrome Community Buddy Walk

2015 Down Syndrome Community Buddy Walk

Here are a few photos from the 2015 Puget Sound Buddy Walk, run by the Down Syndrome Community and held on October 5 at the Seattle Center.  To see the entire set of ~200 photos please visit my Picasa page.  The photos there can all be downloaded free of charge, and I welcome and encourage you to do so.  These photos are high enough resolution to make a decent print.  If there are any specific photos that you would like in higher resolution just contact me and I will send you the file.

Once again some members of the local Star Wars costuming people from the 501st Legion of Garrison Titan were on hand and made themselves available for photos with the kids (and a lot of adults too!).   These people have been wonderful about showing up for this event every year, and staying until the end so the kids can be photographed with them.  Some of them even do the actual Walk with the families and kids!

I don’t know what the official attendance was for the Buddy Walk this year, but it looked to me like the biggest crowd ever.  When the actual Walk began, I was amazed how many people were involved, had to be well over a thousand.  And we lucked out with a gorgeous fall day, perfect conditions to hang out in the sunshine and make some new friends.

  1. […] I have been the photographer at this event for ~20 years now.  As many of you know, my daughter Kerri has Down Syndrome, and I volunteer my photo services every year to the Sweetheart Dance and the Buddy Walk, which is held every October at the Seattle Center (photos from the 2015 Buddy Walk can be seen by clicking this link).
