As I already mentioned, this wedding took place at Thornewood Castle, an authentic English castle that was taken apart brick by brick and then transported to its new home, where it was then reassembled.\u00a0 The castle is 27,000 square feet and took more than four years to complete.\u00a0 Originally the entire estate was over 100 acres, with a formal garden that was 37 acres.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 Pretty incredible place!\u00a0 the estate is considerably smaller now smaller now, just over 4 acres.\u00a0 I’ve been fortunate to photograph more than a dozen weddings there, and always look forward to the opportunity.\u00a0 I sure wish I could have seen it in its heyday, before much of the castle grounds were sold.<\/p>\n
But back to Mike and Lisa!\u00a0 Their wedding took place on a perfect Summer day, which allowed them to hold their ceremony in the incredible formal garden, which is still more than 1\/2 acre in size and is beautiful.\u00a0 Look at the original post to see more photos of the garden as well as the castle.<\/p>\n
The reception was held both indoors and outdoors; indoors inside the formal dining room (which is huge), and outdoors in a covered area just outside the dining room that once was used as a covered driveway for cars to drop off family and visitors to the Castle.\u00a0 This outdoor area is large enough to make a perfect spot for a post-wedding cocktail hour, and at most of the weddings that I have photographed here that is how it has been used.<\/p>\n
It was a wonderful wedding, and I hope that the photos I took that day will prove to be a great way for Lisa and Mike to remember their wedding day.<\/p>\n
