Happy First Anniversary Dorothy Ann and Matthew!<\/h1>\n

This was the final wedding of 2019 for me, and was hands down the most fun.\u00a0 This was largely because of the bride and groom, Dorothy Ann (hereafter referred to as “Dor”) and Matthew.<\/p>\n

This couple are some of the biggest geeks I have ever met, and I mean that as a total compliment.\u00a0 Because I am also a huge geek!\u00a0 Best of all, we share the same loves that define our “geekdom” (or is it “geekhood”?).\u00a0 We love Star Wars, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, all things Tolkien and last but by far not least we adore How to Train Your Dragon, or HTTYD.<\/p>\n

When Dor first contacted me early in 2019, we talked about planing an engagement session and she\u00a0 told me that she and Matthew wanted to use the movie “How to Train Your Dragon” as the theme for the shoot.\u00a0 This sounded like a very cool and fun idea to me, both because no one had ever asked me to do anything like this before but also because I had seen the first two Dragons movies and was eagerly awaiting the release of the third, due sometime that spring.\u00a0 As we talked we realized that the three of us were kindred spirits in our geekiness, and I got more and more interested in working with this couple.\u00a0 You can see some of the photos from the engagement session here – Dorothy Ann and Matthew’s Engagement Session<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back to the wedding!\u00a0 As I said earlier, this was a very fun and extremely creative wedding.\u00a0 The overall theme was a crazy mix of all of Matthew and Dor’s favorite things.\u00a0 Matthew wore a Star Trek pin on his lapel.\u00a0 As a pre-wedding gift they gave me a Hand of the King pin from Game of Thrones; which I proudly wore throughout the wedding and reception.\u00a0 Yes, I realize this is seriously geeky, but if you don’t appreciate how much fun it is you clearly need to get out more! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Almost forgot to mention – the coupe also had (of course) their own Light Sabers, which we had a ton of fun playing with during their photo session before the ceremony.\u00a0 And I had some Photoshop fun adding a few of their favorite Dragon friends to a few of the photos.<\/p>\n
