Mike and Ryan FINALLY get married at the Fremont Foundry!<\/h1>\n

It was almost exactly a year late, but Mike and Ryan finally had their long-awaited wedding at the Fremont Foundry<\/a> in Seattle.\u00a0 I have been working with these guys since their engagement photo session way back in October 2019<\/a> (which you can see by clicking the link). The ceremony was originally planned for July 2020, but we all know what happened in the meantime!\u00a0 When the decision was made last spring to postpone the wedding for a year I was very happy that Mike and Ryan told me that they really wanted me to be their photographer when the wedding finally happened, and I was very happy to agree to do so.<\/p>\n

The Pre-Wedding Photos<\/h2>\n

On the wedding day I arrived at the wedding venue, the Fremont Foundry, and discovered that Ryan and Mike were already there and just about ready to get dressed.\u00a0 First they had to have a blind drawing for special socks for each male member of the wedding party (and there were some pretty cool socks!), after which the boys retired to their respective rooms to get dressed before the planned pre-wedding photo session.<\/p>\n

Once they were dressed and ready to go, we had the families and wedding parties all move out onto the back courtyard of the Foundry for the posed photos of families and wedding party.\u00a0 It was a gorgeous Summer day, but a bit on the warm side for Seattleites who are more accustomed to clouds, rain and cool temps.\u00a0 Fortunately the courtyard was nicely shaded so everyone could stay out of the hot sun.<\/p>\n

Once we finished the family photos, the entire wedding party and I made our way a couple of blocks from the Foundry to the ship canal, where I thought we might be able to get some fun photos along the Canal.\u00a0 You’ll see a few of these below.\u00a0 Then it was back to the Foundry to get ready for the wedding ceremony!<\/p>\n

The Wedding Ceremony<\/h2>\n

The ceremony was held on the rooftop terrace, which has some amazing views looking out over North Seattle.\u00a0 At this time I’d like to introduce the wedding party so you can identify them in the photos.\u00a0 They are –<\/p>\n

          Once the guests were all in position the wedding procession began.\u00a0 Mike was accompanied down the aisle by his mom Cindy, and Ryan’s mom Susan walked with him to the altar.\u00a0 The wedding was officiated by Cindy Todd, a friend of both of the grooms.\u00a0 Like pretty much everyone in attendance Cindy was of the opinion that this wedding was way overdue, and she told some great stories about the two grooms during the ceremony.<\/p>\n

          The Reception<\/h2>\n

          At the conclusion of the ceremony we took a few minutes to get a big group photo of the wedding party with all of the guests.\u00a0 While this was going on the staff of the Foundry had a bar set up on another part of the roof, and the guests all enjoyed fantastic appetizers and cold drinks.\u00a0 Everyone then moved inside and downstairs to the dining area where they enjoyed a fantastic buffet dinner.\u00a0 I won’t take you through the entire reception, but it involved lots of food, drink, dancing and fun!<\/p>\n
