Happy First Wedding Anniversary Anneliese and Mark

Happy First Wedding Anniversary Wishes to Anneliese and Mark!

One year ago Anneliese and Mark were married at one of my favorite weddings of the year, held at the beautiful French Creek Manor.  This wedding was put together long-distance by Anneliese, who at the time was a grad student working on her PhD on the east coast.  As anyone who has planned a wedding knows, it is NOT an easy undertaking, and when you are located ~2500 miles away from your venue it only makes things that much more difficult!

But Anneliese and Mark did a fantastic job of organizing everything even though they could not be physically present to do so.  Thank goodness for the Internet and email!  I worked with quite a few couples on their destination weddings in the pre-internet 1980s and 1990s when the only method of rapid communication was by telephone, and that made things even trickier.  This is not to take away from the great job done by Anneliese and Mark, simply to note how much things have changed.

I met with Anneliese about 11 months before the wedding date, and immediately knew that she would be a great bride to work with.  She not only was extremely well organized (as I would expect from a PhD candidate) she also had a great sense of humor.  And when she told me that one of groom Mark’s main requirements for the reception was “plenty of bacon!”, I knew that this was going to be a fun wedding.

But enough talk from me.  Please go the the link above and visit the original blog posting from last September, where I tell the story of the day and also let you view a pretty extensive number of photos from the day.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy the photos!
