Sneak Peek – Fabulous wedding at Russell’s Loft

Sneak Peek of Miho and David’s fabulous wedding at Russell’s Loft

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of being the photographer at the wedding of David and Miho, held at Russell’s Loft in Bothell.  Russell’s is in the upper half of what was once a working dairy barn on a large farm complex.  Really cool venue, I’ll talk about it more in my full posting on the wedding.

As I was driving to the venue the sky seemed to be clearing after what had been a very cloudy morning, and I was encouraged that we might have a little sunshine and the opportunity for some outdoor photos; something that doesn’t happen very often during late February in Seattle.  But the weather gods had other plans.  While Miho and David were getting dressed, the clouds rolled back in.  Because of the structure of the Loft, there are very few windows and those are all quite high up in the room.  When we started organizing Miho’s family for some pre-ceremony photos I happened to look out the window and could see that there was a layer of snow on the roof of the building next door!  Once we finished the family photos we went to check out the outside conditions to see if photos were feasible; I’m always a bit concerned about the bride getting her dress wet or dirty during the photos, and Miho’s dress has a substantial train that would have acted like a big sponge.

We managed to find a few spots where the snow and slush was at a minimum, and get some shots both of the of the wedding party.  The photo above was taken between Russell’s and the building/barn next door, which is a twin to the barn which contains Russell’s.  The building in the background is Russell’s.

That’s all for now, I hope to have a full blog posting up in a few days once I have time to edit all of the photos.
